What a custom offer is
A custom offer is a negotiated deal sent inside an IVOTIA conversation. It lets the seller turn the current discussion into a payable offer without asking the buyer to search for the listing again.
Custom offers can be created for both products and services, but every offer must stay linked to a real active listing owned by the seller.
Who can create a custom offer
Only the seller side of the conversation can create a custom offer. Buyers cannot send custom offers from chat.
The linked listing must be active, must belong to the seller in that conversation, and its listing type must match the offer type. A product offer must stay tied to a product listing, and a service offer must stay tied to a service listing.
What sellers include in the offer
When creating a custom offer, the seller sets the title, optional description, price, delivery time, and expiry window. The seller can also add included items so the buyer sees exactly what is covered.
Service offers can include a revision count. Product offers use quantity instead, and shipping is not bundled into the offer price because shipping is calculated later at checkout from the buyer delivery address.
How buyers see the offer in chat
The custom offer appears as a structured offer card inside the conversation timeline. Buyers can review the linked listing, negotiated price, delivery time, included items, and expiry date before acting.
Pending offers can normally be accepted for payment or declined by the buyer. Sellers can also withdraw their own pending offers. Expired offers stop being payable.
How payment works for a custom offer
When the buyer chooses to pay, IVOTIA creates an order using the custom offer as the source. The checkout intent is treated as a custom-offer order, not as a standard cart checkout.
For service offers, payment can continue once the order is created. For product offers, IVOTIA must first calculate shipping using the buyer saved delivery address, because the final order includes the negotiated item price plus shipping where required.
What happens after payment
A successful payment converts the custom offer into a real order. The order keeps the custom-offer details such as title, description, delivery time, included items, revisions, or negotiated quantity.
After the paid order is confirmed, the offer status moves out of pending and the order follows the normal escrow-backed product or service order flow.
Important things to know
Custom offers are meant for negotiated work inside IVOTIA, not off-platform payments. Buyers should still complete payment through IVOTIA so the order is protected and recorded correctly.
Because every custom offer is tied to a real listing, reviews and order history stay attached to the correct product or service instead of becoming an untracked private arrangement.
