How to reset your password

Use the forgot-password flow to request a reset link, open the secure link from your email, and create a new IVOTIA password.

Disclaimer: This article covers the current IVOTIA password-reset flow for email-and-password accounts. If you usually sign in with Google, you may not need to reset a separate IVOTIA password unless you have already added one.

Before you start

Use this flow if you cannot remember the password for your IVOTIA account and need to set a new one.

The reset flow starts from the Forgot password page and sends a secure reset link to the email address you enter.

For security, IVOTIA shows a neutral success message even when no matching account is found. That means you may see a success response even if the email is not registered.

Create a new password

After IVOTIA verifies the token, the reset page shows the masked email address for the account and asks you to create a new password.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters long, and the confirmation field must match exactly before the form can be submitted.

  1. 1
    Enter a new password.
  2. 2
Re-enter the same password in Confirm password.
  3. 3
Select Reset password to save the change.
  4. 4
After a successful reset, IVOTIA redirects you back to the login page.

Important things to know

  1. 1
The reset link only works for the email address tied to the account.
  2. 2
If the email does not arrive, check spam or junk before requesting another one.
  3. 3
The request page can temporarily show a retry timer after sending a reset link, so you may need to wait briefly before sending another request.
  4. 4
If you signed in with Google and never created a separate IVOTIA password, try Continue with Google first before using the reset flow.
  5. 5
If the reset link keeps failing, request a new one instead of reusing an older email.
