How to change the email address on your account

Understand when you can update your email yourself, how verification works, and what happens once an email is already verified.

Disclaimer: This article covers the current IVOTIA self-service email flow. Verified email addresses are treated more strictly than unverified ones, so the profile page does not expose the same editing behavior in every account state.

Before you start

IVOTIA treats verified email addresses as account-ownership details. That means the self-service behavior depends on whether your current email is already verified.

Use an email address that you control and can access, because IVOTIA sends a verification link before the address becomes fully active on the account.

If your email is missing or still unverified

You can update the email field from your Account > Profile page while the address is still missing or unverified.

After saving the email, IVOTIA lets you send a verification link from the same profile screen.

    Open Account > Profile.

    Enter the email address you want to use.

    Save your profile changes.
  4. 4
    Complete the captcha in the email section.
  5. 5
    Select Send Verification.

Verify the new email address

IVOTIA sends a verification link to the address you entered. Open that email and follow the verification link to confirm the address.

After successful verification, the profile page marks the email as verified and the field becomes read-only.

    Open the verification email from IVOTIA.

    Select the verification link.
  3. 3
    Wait for the confirmation page to show that the email has been verified.
  4. 4
    Return to your profile if you want to confirm the verified status badge.

If your current email is already verified

Once an email is verified, the normal profile form no longer lets you edit it directly. The email field becomes read-only in the account profile page.

If you need to replace a verified email address, use support instead of expecting a normal self-service edit from the profile form.

Important things to know

    The new email address must be valid and not already used by another IVOTIA account.

    You need to complete the captcha before IVOTIA will send the verification link.
  3. 3
    If the email is still unverified, you can usually correct it before verifying it.

    If you no longer have access to the currently verified email address, contact support and be ready for account-ownership checks.
  5. 5
    If the verification link fails, request another one from the profile page instead of reusing an old email.
